  Try our new weight calculator - it will compute the total weight of various sizes of sheet, rod, tube, etc. for common materials or for any material if you know its density.

  MatWeb crosses the 21,000 material mark with recent additions from 3M Adhesives, engineering thermoplastics from Prima Plastics, Multibase, and Rhodia, specialty metals from CMW Metals, more metal matrix composites, and international alloys. Our new site map helps users to take full advantage of MatWeb's resources.

  Over 20,000 engineering materials are now available in our searchable database. MatWeb's metals section has been enhanced with new specialty metals from Ametek and Brush Wellman; we've added carbon fibers from Hexcel Corp.; and engineering polymers from Victrex (PEEK™) and MRC Polymers.

  MatWeb is selected for Current Web Contents; awarded by ISI editors for our scholarly approach and quality data.

  MatWeb surpasses 19,000 materials. New additions include engineering plastics from Albis North America, BASF, Keysor-Century, and Bayer Corporation; solders and fusible metals (including lead-free solder) from Indium Corporation of America; more metal matrix composites from Brush Wellman and PCC-Advanced Forming Technology; plus dental composites, aluminum alloys, and ceramic coatings.

  MatWeb is the first recipient of MatHub's WebWatch Award.
