General Description

Silicon (Si) Nanotubes, Single-Walled, Double Walled and Multi-Walled are tubular ultra high surface area nanotubes. Nanoscale Silicon Nanotubes are typically 10 - 100 nanometers (nm) with specific surface area (SSA) in the 10 – 75 m 2 /g range. Silicon Nanotubes are also available in coated and dispersed forms. Research into applications for Silicon Nanotubes includes use in luminescent display devises due to silicon`s broader excitation spectra in the nanoscale range, as building blocks for single-nanoparticle electronic devices, in micro and integrated semiconductors, in solar energy cells, and in certain alloy applications.
