Material Notes:
EFR-4 is ideal for incorporation into urethane resin systems, including coatings, foams and other similar applications.

When blended into a resin system, EFR-4 will react to heat and/or flame by foaming and forming a thick, high yield char barrier. The char barrier will extinguish fire and prevent further flame spread. Additionally, the char foam insulates and protects the polymer substrate from heat and fire damage.

EFR-4 is halogen-free, contains no metals, PBDEs, PBBs or other brominated compounds and does not evolve the highly toxic and corrosive gasses associated with many other fire retardants. EFR-4 is a RoHS/WEEE compliant material. EFR-4 functions at loading levels around 30% by weight but specific and individual product testing must be undertaken to qualify the formulation.
