    Material Notes:
    Texaco Threadtex delivers value through:

    • High antiweld protection — Drill collars "break" easily. No galled or broken threads.
    • Excellent lubrication in the presence of water, drilling muds, etc. Provides positive seal in drill pipe threads.
    • Application over a wide temperature range.

    Texaco Threadtex is a lithium soap grease designed principally for the lubrication of drill collars, tool joints and pipe threads.

    It contains zinc and talc to reduce friction, galling and seizing.

    Texaco Threadtex:

    • Provides high antiweld protection and withstands high pressures.
    • Stays on threads under severe torquing action.
    • Protects the shoulders and thread faces of the tool joint against damage from galling or seizure during makeup or disassembly.
    • Provides excellent corrosion, oxidation resistance
    • Has enhanced field application at low temperatures.

    Texaco Threadtex is waterproof and highly resistant to washoff by water or drilling mud.

    Texaco Threadtex is the preferred recommendation for the threads and shoulders of rotary shouldered tool joints and the entire drill string in most drilling applications.

    Typical test data are average values only. Minor variations which do not affect product performance are to be expected in normal manufacturing.

    Notes:

    1. Minimum operating temperature is the lowest temperature at which a grease, already in place, could be expected to provide lubrication. Most greases cannot be pumped at these minimum temperatures.
    2. Maximum operating temperature is the highest temperature at which the grease could be used with frequent (daily) relubrication.
    3. Determined on mineral oil extracted by vacuum filtration.
