Texaco Multigear® EP SAE 80W-90
Subcategory: Fluid; Lubricant
Close Analogs: CPS Number: 222316; MSDS Number: 8628
Material Notes: Texaco Multigear EP oils deliver value through:- Improved durability — Specially formulated to stand up to the demands of severe service applications.
- Extended gear life — Extreme pressure properties protect hypoid and other types of gears from scuffing and wear under heavily loaded conditions.
- Long lubricant life — Outstanding thermal and oxidation stability allow high temperature operation with long lubricant life without the formation of sludge and deposits.
- All-weather protection — Multiviscosity characteristics assure proper gear lubrication at both low and high ambient temperatures.
- Corrosion and rust protection — Effective inhibitor package prevents rusting or corrosion of gears and bearings surfaces.
Texaco Multigear EP oils are multipurpose lubricants. They are made with: - Highly refined base stocks
- A carefully balanced additive package to provide maximum gear protection, long lubricant life and excellent field performance
- Sulfur-phosphorus extreme pressure additives that provide superior thermal and oxidation stability
- Rust and corrosion inhibitors, a foam inhibitor, and a pour point depressant
The highly refined base stocks and various inhibitors in the additive package assure a well-balanced lubricant and long gear and bearing life with maximum durability.Texaco Multigear EP oils are recommended for use in all spiral bevel and hypoid differentials, power dividers, and oil-lubricated steering axle wheel bearings. They are designed for complete refill and make-up of all passenger car, light duty and heavy duty truck transmissions, conventional differentials and steering gears. Their multiviscosity characteristics allow their use in equipment operating over a broad ambient temperature range. This means good cold flow properties and gear protection. Texaco Multigear EP oils meet the performance requirements of: - API Service Categories MT-1, GL-4, and GL-5
- Are qualified for SAE J 2360 (formerly known as MIL-PRF-2105E)
They also meet the requirements of:- A Mack GO-J fluid
- Rockwell 0-76D (SAE 80W-90), 0-76-A (SAE 85W-140)
Typical test data are average values only. Minor variations which do not affect product performance are to be expected in normal manufacturing.
