Autoclaved aerated concrete, 0.830 g/cc density
Subcategory: Concrete
Material Notes: Uniform cellular product made from a siliceous material (sand and/or pulverized-fuel ash) and cement or cement and lime. Cellular structure is produced usually by the incorporation of fine aluminum powder into the mix. Aerated concrete undergoes plastic deformation, or creep, under sustained loading. 100 mm wall of autoclaved concrete blocks, without surface finishing, has a fire resistance grading of 2 hours if loadbearing, or 4 hours if non-loadbearing. Easily sawn and drilled with hand tools. Vapor resistance of 60 MNs/gm. Applications include building blocks, reinforcing units, precast lintels, infill blocks for concrete floor and roof systems.
