Corning Vycor® 7930 Porous Glass
Subcategory: Glass; Optical
Material Notes: Open cell porous glass which exhibits excellent moisture absorbing properties ("thirsty"). It is mechanically hard and strong, nondusting, nonflaking, and chemically inert. These properties allow it to be employed as a noncontaminating getter - it rapidly absorbs water and organic contaminants. It is often used for filtration and separation of compounds. The open-cell network allows permeability on a selective basis. Also available crushed/powdered. Information provided by Corning Incorporated.
