Goodfellow Alumino-silicate Glass
Subcategory: Oxide, Silicon; Oxide, Aluminum
Material Notes: SiO2 57/Al2O3 36/CaO/MgO/BaO General Description: Porous ceramics can be used as filters and for the controlled release of volatile chemicals. In this material, Alumino-Silicate particles are found in a glassy matrix. The resulting ceramic is used to remove solids from gases and liquids, and liquids such as oil and water from gases. This grade removes particles down to 30 microns in diameter. It has a high cross breaking strength and so is able to withstand high differential pressure. It is resistant to hot and cold acids, except hydrofluoric acid and acid fluorides, and is also resistant to alkaline solutions up to pH9, and hot gases up to 900C.
