Mid-Mountain Materials Cermex® MT1800 Needled Silica Mat
Subcategory: Glass; Oxide, Silicon; Glass Fiber; Oxide; Composite Fibers
Material Notes: Description: CERMEX MT1800 silica mat is comprised of high purity, high strength amorphous silica fibers. These long fibers are needled into high strength, shot free and binderless insulation materials that are available in a wide range of densities and thicknesses. The complete absence of unfiberized particles (shot) and organic binders make these products capable of unequaled performance in applications where contamination cannot be tolerated. The physical strength, abrasion resistance and resistance to vibration degradation make these materials superior to ceramic fiber insulation in demanding applications. The amorphous silica fibers that make up MT1800 mat are unaffected by most chemicals, except strong alkalis, hydrofluoric acid or sodium. CERMEX MT1800 is available in standard and pre-shrunk (fired) versions. Information provided by Mid-Mountain Materials.
