Mid-Mountain Materials Turbosil™ 18 HS Textile Fabric
Subcategory: Glass; Glass Fiber; Composite Fibers
Material Notes: Description: TURBOSIL™ is a high performance textile fabric that is comprised of high purity, high strength amorphous silica fibers that are woven into a strong, flexible fabric. The "HS" stands for "high strength", for applications where a higher tensile strength or abrasion resistance might be required, such may be found in the above mentioned environments. TURBOSIL™ is specifically manufactured for use in engineered thermal insulation systems designed for severe temperatures where fiberglass and vermiculite coated fiberglass materials break down - areas such as Turbine Covers, Exhaust Silencer Covers, etc. TURBOSIL™ is also excellent for protection of personnel and equipment against welding splatter, sparks, grinding of metals, etc. The amorphous silica fibers that make up TURBOSIL™ are unaffected by most chemicals, except strong alkalis, hydrofluoric acid or sodium.
