American Elements Magnesium Nanoparticles
Subcategory: Pure Element; Nonferrous Metal
Key Words: Formula: Mg; CAS Number: 7439-95-4
Material Notes: General DescriptionMagnesium (Mg) Nanoparticles, nanodots or nanopowder are spherical black high surface area particles. Nanoscale Magnesium Particles are typically 20-60 nanometers (nm) with specific surface area (SSA) in the 30 – 70 m 2 /g range. Nano Magnesium Particles are also available in Ultra high purity and high purity and coated and dispersed forms. Applications for Magnesium nanocrystals generally involve the potential to strengthen magnesium metal by adding them in order to create a lighter alloy competitive with aluminum and thereby increase the performance and energy efficiency of automobiles, airplanes and other vehicles and in coatings, plastics, nanowire, nanofiber and textiles and in certain alloy and catalyst applications.
