Magnesium AM100A-T4, Cast
Subcategory: Magnesium Alloy; Nonferrous Metal
Key Words: UNS M10100; SAE J465; Mg; Old SAE 502; AMS 4483; ASTM B 80; ASTM B 199; AMS 4455 T6 temper; ASTM B 403 (Ingot UNS M10101)
Material Notes: Mg content calculated as balance. Can be cast as permanent-mold (AMS 4483, ASTM B 199), investment cast (AMS T6 temper, 4455, ASTM B 403), Sand cast (ASTM B 80). No longer widely used, typical uses were commercial and military pressure-tight sand and permanent mold structural castings with good combinations of tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation. Very good weldability.
