Titanium Alloys, General
Subcategory: Titanium Alloy; Nonferrous Metal
Material Notes: The titanium alloy entries in MatWeb are categorized as alpha/near alpha, alpha/beta, or beta titanium alloys. MatWeb also has entries for unalloyed titanium (grades 1,2,3,4,7,11, and 12), high purity titanium, and an entry under pure metallic elements. The addition of alloying elements improves the mechanical properties (strength, hardness) of titanium while decreasing its thermal and electrical conductivities. These properties are typical of commercial titanium alloys. Some properties, such as strength and hardness, vary too much for a reasonable generalization. See entries for individual alloys for more specific information.
