Material Notes:
Chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloyed PM steel

A powder metallurgically produced tool steel with excellent wear resistance and good ductility. VANADIS 6® is recommended for low temperature die casting applications and warm forging applications where wear resistance above that of an ORVAR 2M/AISI H13 is required.

Vanadis 6 is characterized by:

  • Very high abrasive-adhesive wear resistance
  • High compressive strength
  • Good toughness
  • Very good dimensional stability at heat treatment and in service
  • Very good through-hardening properties
  • Good resistance to tempering back
  • High cleanliness
