CMW® 328 Copper Alloy
Subcategory: Copper Alloy; Nonferrous Metal
Key Words: UNS C18150 (Wrought)
Material Notes: CMW® 328 material is a high strength, high conductivity copper base alloy. CMW® 328 is heat treatable. Optimum mechanical and physical properties of CMW® 328 material are developed by heat treatment or through a combination of heat treatment and cold working. CMW® 328 material is used extensively for cap style resistance welding electrodes. Evidence suggests that it can provide less sticking and resist deformation longer than its copper-chrome counterpart (CMW® 3) in some specific situations. CMW® 328 can be substituted for CMW® 3 in any structural or current carrying situation without fear of degrading the design. Information provided by CMW Inc.
