CMW ELKONITE® 20SB tungsten, silver
Subcategory: Silver Alloy; Tungsten Alloy; Nonferrous Metal
Material Notes: ELKONITE® 20SB is made by a "press-sinter" method with a small addition of nickel used to activate the sintering. Because of fewer steps in manufacture this material is more economical than the Elkonite® 20S (press-sinter-infiltrate) counterpart. Size of Elkonite® 20SB contacts are limited due to warping. They can be made with a serrated back and excess silver to facilitate attachment. Elkonite® 20SB with its high refractory content is used in certain lower rated circuit breakers where their temperature rise is adequate. Some automotive circuit protectors use ELKONITE® 20SB operating against a silver alloy. Information provided by CMW Inc.
