CMW ELKONITE® 35SB tungsten, silver
Subcategory: Silver Alloy; Tungsten Alloy; Nonferrous Metal
Material Notes: ELKONITE® 35SB is the most popular material made by the press sinter process with a small addition of nickel used to activate the sintering. Because of fewer steps in manufacture this material is more economical than the Elkonite® 35S (press-sinter-infiltrate) counterpart. This composition is widely used for household, appliance, instrument and aircraft circuit breakers. At the currents encountered in small molded case circuit breakers, the erosion characteristics of ELKONITE® 35SB are similar to those of infiltrated ELKONITE® 35S. They are also used in street lighting relays and other special purpose devices where high surge currents are encountered and resistance to welding is required. Information provided by CMW Inc.
