Industeel SUPERPLAST® Stainless Mold Steel
Subcategory: Stainless Steel; Alloy Steel; Mold Steel
Material Notes: SUPERPLAST® Stainless is a specially designed steel for plastic mould bases providing improved performances compared to standard grades such as 1.2085. SUPERPLAST® Stainless offers improved machinability, improved consistency and weldability, and increased thermal conductivity. Moreover, thanks to its low Carbon and 13% Chromium content, SUPERPLAST® Stainless ensures a good corrosion resistance (atmospheric as well as from acidic polymers). SUPERPLAST® Stainless offers significantly improved machinability (tool life and chip removal) when compared to 1.2085 commonly used for this application. The steel provides also an improved dimensional stability after machining, thanks to its balanced chemical composition and special heat treatment. Nevertheless, SUPERPLAST® is not recommended for texturing and polishing.
