KB Alloys 3% Zirconium 2% Vanadium Aluminum Zirconium Vanadium Alloys
Subcategory: Aluminum Alloy; Nonferrous Metal; Zirconium Alloy
Close Analogs: Al. Assoc. Registration No: H2632
Material Notes: Many of the disadvantages of using elemental hardener additions can be overcome by using aluminum base master alloys. When aluminum base master alloys are made with a high melting temperature element, the melting temperature of the master alloy, even at high concentrations, is significantly reduced from that of the element. Use of master alloys with rapid solution rates also means shorter furnace cycles and thus increased throughput and better furnace utilization. Reduced furnace temperature and shorter furnace cycles improve recovery of the alloying element from the master alloy, and improve precision of the desired alloy composition.Information provided by KB Alloys
