Lucas-Milhaupt BRAZE 450 Silver Based Cadmium Free Filler Metal
Subcategory: Silver Alloy; Copper Alloy; Zinc Alloy; Nonferrous Metal; Solder/Braze Alloy
Material Notes:
Characteristics:Braze 450 is an intermediate temperature cadmium free silver brazing filler metal with sufficient melting range (145EF) to properly braze joints with the range of fits encountered in commercial tubing and fittings. It has a slight tendency to liquate (i.e. separate into high and low melting constituents) if heated slowly through its melting range. Applications:Braze 450 has found considerable application in pipe brazing in the ship construction industry and for such items as band instruments, brass lamps, aircraft engine oil coolers, plus other situations where a high strength, ductile joint is required. It is a good, general purpose, brazing filler metal for use where a cadmium free filler metal is specified. Specifications:Braze 450 conforms to the following specifications- AWS A5.8 BAg-5, ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Sec. II C, SFA-5.8 BAg-5 Information provided by Lucas-Milhaupt, Inc.
