Stoody® 3 Cobalt-Base Cast Alloy
Subcategory: Superalloy; Nonferrous Metal; Cobalt Base
Key Words: MIL-C-15345F, Alloy 22, and MIL-C-24248; Deloro Stellite Inc.
Material Notes: Cobalt content above calculated as balance. Stoody® 3 is a high carbon, chromium, tungsten cobalt-base centrifugally cast alloy designed to be non-magnetic in the as-cast and stress relieved conditions. This alloy exhibits improved wear and corrosion resistance, but has less impact and thermal shock resistance than Stoody 1. It is used in applications where a non-magnetic version of Stoody is 1 is required and also - as long as some caution is taken towards its slightly low impact strength properties, where additional abrasion resistance is desirable. Stoody 3 can be manufactured to conform to Military specification MIL-C-15345F, Alloy 22, and MIL-C-24248 (ships), Composition IV. Recommended for steel mill guide rolls, bearing bushings, tube forming rolls, rotary seal rings, can and barrel seaming rolls and wear pads. Information provided by Deloro Stellite Inc.
