Swiss Steel International Mold Quality S7 Cold Work Steel
Subcategory: Chrome-moly Steel; Cold Work Steel; Alloy Steel; Metal
Close Analogs: Iron content calculated as remainder
Key Words: AISI S7
Material Notes: Cold Work Steels, because of their typical properties - high surface hardness, good toughness and compressive strength, high wear resistance - find use as cutting and pressing tools, cavity moulds and knives, hobbing and drawing tools, cavity sinking punches, flat and circular thread-rolling dies and much more.Mold Quality S7 (AISI S7) is a chromium-molybdenum tool steel with a unique combination of toughness and wear resistance, together with each of machining and heat treatment. It is used in both cold and hot work applications as the result of its combination of properties. Advantages of this grade are ease of heat treatment and minimal distortion. Mold Quality S7 is selectively melted for improved cleanliness, which results in excellent polishability.
