Material Notes:
To manufacture plastic parts, it is necessary to have steels with a high wear resistance, good polishability and etching ability, adequate corrosion resistance, and cost efficient machining properties. Employed for this purpose, as a function of the requirements are case hardening steels, quenched and tempered steels, corrosion-resistant steels, nitriding steels and maraging steels.

THYROPLAST® PH X SUPRA is a corrosion resistant, precipitation hardened steel with high strength and good toughness. It shows excellent polishability due to the applied remelting process. Compared to THYROPLAST® 2316, hardness in as-supplied condition and corrosion resistance are improved, repair welding is facilitated.
