Material Notes:
To manufacture plastic parts, it is necessary to have steels with a high wear resistance, good polishability and etching ability, adequate corrosion resistance, and cost efficient machining properties. Employed for this purpose, as a function of the requirements are case hardening steels, quenched and tempered steels, corrosion-resistant steels, nitriding steels and maraging steels.

Increased corrosion resistance in comparison with THYROPLAST 2083, good polishability. This steel is usually supplied in quenched and tempered condition with a working hardness of approximately 300 HB.
