BryCoat Thermal Spray Coatings
Material Notes: Thermal spray coatings are applied by spraying fine powdered materials to the part surface at extremely high velocities. The resulting coatings can be from 0.0005 inches to over 0.100 inches. Thermal spray coatings are used for- Wear Resistance
- Corrosion Resistance
- Abrasion Resistance
- Dimensional Restoration
- Thermal Barrier
Many different coating materials can be used, such as ceramics, MCrAlYs, carbides, oxides, and alloys. Coating systems include HVOF (High Velocity Oxy Fuel) and High Energy Air Plasma. Attributes of plasma spray coating: - Cost Effective
- Good Wear Factor
- Bond Tensile Strength (6000 psi typical)
- High Density (15% porosity)
- Excellent for Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs)
Attributes of HVOF Coating:- Excellent Wear Factor
- Very High Density (1% porosity)
- Outstanding Adhesion
- Bond Tensile Strength (15,000 psi typical)
