Latrobe LSS™ 2714HT Hot Work Tool Steel (DIN 1.2714 mod)
Subcategory: Tool Steel; Hot Work Steel; Alloy Steel; Metal
Close Analogs: Timken sold Latrobe in December 2006. They are now Latrobe Specialty Steels Co.
Material Notes: TLS 2714HT is the same steel available from inventory in a heat-treated condition, at a hardness of 352 to 401 HBS (approximately 38 to 43 HRC). TLS 2714HT can be readily flame cut, and this property is often used to advantage in manufacturing hot extrusion die backer plates. TLS 2714HT should be considered for applications which require higher tensile strengths than the common pre-hardened steels such as 4140 and 4340.Information Provided by Timken Latrobe Steel.
