Material Notes: Iron content is calculated as remainder. Universal 308 coated electrodes are used for welding unstabilized 18-8 stainless steels such as types 301, 302, 302B, 303, 308Se 304, 305, and 308. Universal 308 electrodes provide corrosion resistance and physical properties equal to or greater than the steels for which they are recommended. Typical applications include dairy, distillery equipment, and restaurant equipment, chemical, and refining industries. Weld deposits, when ground and finished, cannot be distinguished from the base metal. Information provided by Universal Wire Works for their line of welding wire and filler metal.
