Universal Wire Works 309 Stainless Steel Electrode
Subcategory: Stainless Steel; T 300 Series Stainless Steel; Metal
Key Words: AWS E309-15,16
Material Notes: Iron content is calculated as remainder. Universal 309 electrodes are used for the welding of heat resisting type 309 stainless steel. Deposits retain strength and oxidation resistance up to 2000 degrees F. Typical applications include furnace parts, kiln linings, and heat treat baskets. Alloy 309 is excellent for welding AISI types 405, 410, 430, 442, and 446 when preheat and postweld heat treatment is not practical. Alloy 309 is also used for welding the clad side of stainless clad steels and for joining mild or carbon steels to stainless steel. Information provided by Universal Wire Works for their line of welding wire and filler metal.
