Universal Wire Works 347 Stainless Steel Electrode
Subcategory: Stainless Steel; T 300 Series Stainless Steel; Metal
Key Words: AWS E347-15,16
Material Notes: Iron content is calculated as remainder. Universal 347 electrodes were developed for the welding of types 321 and 347 stainless and the clad side of steel clad with like alloys. Alloy 347 is used for the fabrication of equipment, which must be placed in service under severe corrosive conditions. Typical applications include pressure vessels for continuous service at temperatures of 700 to 1600 degrees F such as chemical plant and oil refinery equipment. Alloy 347 electrodes are columbium stabilized, containing columbium in the amount of 10 times the amount of carbon with a maximum of 1.00%. When welding stabilized alloys of 321 and 347, intergranular corrosion does not occur. Information provided by Universal Wire Works for their line of welding wire and filler metal.
