Universal Wire Works ER218 Stainless Steel Bare Wire
Subcategory: Stainless Steel; Metal
Material Notes: Iron content is calculated as remainder. This alloy is most often used for welding UNS S21800 base metals. This alloy is a nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steel exhibiting high strength and good toughness over a wide range of temperatures. Nitrogen alloying in the base composition results in significant improvement in wear resistance in like particle-to-metal and metal-to-metal (galling) applications when compared to the more conventional austenitic stainless steels such as 304. Information provided by Universal Wire Works for their line of welding wire and filler metal.
