Universal Wire Works ER312 Stainless Steel Bare Wire
Subcategory: Stainless Steel; Metal
Material Notes: Iron content is calculated as remainder. This high strength alloy, originally designed for welding cast alloys of similar composition, has been found to be valuable in welding dissimilar metals, one of which is a high nickel alloy. This alloy gives a two-phase weld deposit with substantial percentages of ferrite in an austenite matrix. Even with considerable dilutions of austenite forming elements such as nickel, the microstructure remains two-phase and thus highly resistant to weld metal cracks and fissures. Information provided by Universal Wire Works for their line of welding wire and filler metal.
