Universal Wire Works 61 Nickel Alloy Welding Wire
Subcategory: Nickel Alloy; Nonferrous Metal
Key Words: AWS A5.14 Class ERNi-1; ASME SFA-5.14 Class ERNi-1
Material Notes: Alloy 61 is used for TIG, MIG, and submerged-arc welding of Nickel 200 and 201, and for overlaying on steel. There is a reaction of carbon with titanium during the welding process so there is a low level of free carbon, which permits Alloy 61 to be used on Nickel 201. Dissimilar welding applications of Alloy 61 include: joining Monel type alloys and copper-nickel alloys to carbon steels, Inconel and Incoloy type alloys to copper-nickel alloys and Monel alloys. Information provided by Universal Wire Works for their line of welding wire and filler metal.
