Universal Wire Works 80SD-2 Steel Welding Wire
Subcategory: Carbon Steel; Metal
Key Words: AWS A5.28 Class ER80S-D2
Material Notes: Iron content is calculated as remainder. Universal 80SD-2 is a manganese, molybdenum, silicon low alloy steel wire producing weld deposits of unusually high strength, ductility and impact properties. This alloy was developed for the welding of medium carbon and sulphur bearing free machining steels. When MIG welding use CO2 shielding gas. The amounts of manganese and silicon in this alloy provide good salvaging action in the weld pool resulting in sound, porosity-free weld. Information provided by Universal Wire Works for their line of welding wire and filler metal.
