Universal Wire Works EB-3 Steel Welding Wire
Subcategory: Carbon Steel; Metal
Key Words: AWS A5.23 Class EB-3; ASME SFA-5.23 Class EB-3
Material Notes: Iron content is calculated as remainder. Universal EB-3 is a 2.25% chromium 1% molybdenum alloy designed for submerged-arc welding of alloys of similar composition. Deposits have high strength and excellent creep resistance. Applications include large diameter piping and pressure vessels. Deposits require preheat, interpass temperature, and postweld heat treatments for optimum mechanical properties. Mechanical properties depend upon various welding variables such as the flux used, the preheat and interpass temperature, and the heat input and postweld heat treatment. Information provided by Universal Wire Works for their line of welding wire and filler metal.
