COLMONOY® 56 PTA - Nickel-Base Hard-Surfacing Alloy With Chromium Boride
Subcategory: Metal Matrix Composite; Nickel Alloy; Nonferrous Metal; Nickel Base
Close Analogs: Nickel content calculated as balance.
Material Notes: Description: Colmonoy 56 PTA is a premium alloy specially formulated for plasma transferred arc (PTA) application on new and worn extrusion screws. High levels of chromium and carbon produce large populations of chromium carbides for superior abrasion and corrosion resistance. The optimized PTA formulation also has reduced boron and increased silicon for better weldability and puddle control. Applications: Colmonoy 56PTA is specifically formulated for overlaying the flights of new and rebuilt extrusion and injection molding screws. It also has applications in the food processing industry on feed screws, air locks and scraper blades. Colmonoy 56PTA is also available in other powder forms and as rod for application on extrusion screws, wear rings, shafts, sleeves cement gate valves, forming and drawing dies, and centrifugal pump parts.
