Chevron Phillips K-Resin® BK10 Styrene-Butadiene Copolymer, Injection Molding Grade
Subcategory: Styrene-Butadiene; Thermoplastic
Key Words: SBC Poly(Styrene Butadiene)
Material Notes: Styrene-Butadiene Copolymer Customer Benefits: BK10 is an SBC developed specifically to have enhanced flow capabilities. It offers improved processability and lower cycle times with the optical clarity, impact toughness, and high gloss K-Resin SBC are known for. BK10 is easily processed by injection molding and molded parts give excellent detail on fast production cycles. It can be tinted or colored in a variety of transparent and opaque shades. Molded parts offer excellent clarity, good toughness, good stiffness, and high surface gloss. Applications: Major applications include molded containers and bottles, medical devices, overcaps, displays, and toys. Processing Recommendations: Injection Molding: Minimum melt temperature between 193-232°C necessary to permit mold fill. Minimum injection pressure required to fill the cavity. Maximum back pressure of 0.3 MPa. Drying: Generally, no need to dry resin. Specification Data: FDA Regulation 21 CFR 177.1640. Suitable for food contact. EEC Directive 90/128/EEC and all its amendments. USP Class VI-50. UL 94HB. Data provided by Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP.
