Advanced Elastomer Systems Vyram® 9271-65 Thermoplastic Rubber
Subcategory: Elastomer, TPE; Thermoplastic
Key Words: Thermoplastic Elastomer, TPE
Material Notes: A colorable thermoplastic elastomer which complies with FDA regulations for rubber articles intended for repeated use, as well as rubber articles in contact with non-fatty, non-oily foods as closures and sealing gaskets. It can be processed using injection molding, extrusion, blow molding or other melt processing techniques. Key Features: Excellent flex fatigue resistance; Excellent ozone resistance; May be used in contact with non-fatty foods as closure sealing gaskets in accordance with provisions of 21 CFR 177.1210 under the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act; Complies with 21 CFR 177.2600 "Rubber Articles Intended for Repeated Use" Additional processing comments: This thermoplastic rubber is a shear-dependent material that can be processed on conventional thermoplastic equipment for injection molding, extrusion, or blow molding. For extrusion, a general purpose screw with a compression ratio of 2.5 to 3.0 is recommended. Material can be recycled. VYRAM rubber is incompatible with acetal and PVC. Values below are for injection molded plaques, side gated, 82.6 mm x 117.5 mm x 3.0 mm. Tensile properties measured across flow. Data provided by Advanced Elastomer Systems.
