Arkema Lacovyl® GA 7701 Vinyl Copolymer
Subcategory: Vinyl; Thermoplastic
Close Analogs: Arkema, formed in 2004, was formerly Atofina Chemicals and before that Elf Atochem.
Key Words: Polyvinyl Chloride; Polyvinyl Acetate
Material Notes: LACOVYL GA 7701 is a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate produced by suspension polymerization process. It may be used by itself or blended with a PVC homopolymer of similar molecular weight. Its characteristics are : - Vinyl acetate content:8%. Viscosity index (ISO 1628-2):80 ml/g,(K value:57). Apparent density (ISO 60):0.59 g/ml.
- ease of fusion
- good elongation with heat
- high level of fluidity in the molten state
Facilitating the extrusion or calendering of films or rigid sheets and improving their suitability for thermoforming. It is furthermore perfectly compatible with the additives used to improve impact resistance. LACOVYL GA 7701 has a very good base color and excellent thermal stability with the stabilizers currently used, especially with those suitable for the manufacture of food containers. * RECOMMENDED APPLICATIONS - Calendering or extrusion of rigid sheets and films for:
- packaging or display packs made by thermoforming - boxes
- stationary
- credit cards, playing cards
- computer disc and video-cassettes holders
- sleeves for bottles
- Records molding (addition resin).
