Arkema Lacqrene® 1160 Polystyrene, Heat Resistant
Subcategory: Polystyrene; Thermoplastic
Close Analogs: Arkema, formed in 2004, was formerly Atofina Chemicals and before that Elf Atochem.
Key Words: PS
Material Notes: High heat resistance, high molecular weight polystyrene Description LACQRENE 1160 is a high heat resistance, high molecular weight crystal polystyrene for the extrusion industry. Most notably for the production of bi-oriented polystyrene (OPS). It is particularly useful in the production of thick sheet by direct gassing, where it gives expanded sheets with high mechanical properties. LACQRENE 1160 can be used in dilution with LACQRENE 7240 for the extrusion of sheet for hot-fill thermoforming applications. Applications: Extrusion Shower cabinets, lighting, thin films. Dilution with high impact polystyrene for thermoformings needing increased temperature resistance. In-line extrusion/thermoforming of transparent cups. ISO data provided by the manufacturer, Arkema.
