Arkema Lacqrene® 1161 Polystyrene, Heat Resistant
Subcategory: Polystyrene; Thermoplastic
Close Analogs: Arkema, formed in 2004, was formerly Atofina Chemicals and before that Elf Atochem.
Key Words: PS
Material Notes: High heat resistance, high molecular weight polystyrene High heat resistance, high molecular weight crystal polystyrene for the extrusion industry. Most notably for the production of bi-oriented polystyrene (OPS). It is particularly useful in the production of thick sheet by direct gassing, where it gives expanded sheets with high mechanical properties. For injection molding, LACQRENE 1161 (externally lubricated version) gives articles with good rigidity and temperature resistance. Applications: Injection CD boxes, Petri dishes, audio cassettes and boxes, video cassette windows. ISO data provided by the manufacturer, Arkema.
