CardioTech International ChronoPrene™ 40A Thermoplastic Rubber Elastomer
Subcategory: Elastomer, TPE; Thermoplastic
Material Notes: ChronoPrene™ is a new and exciting family of thermoplastic elastomeric materials that are also biocompatible. ChronoPrene™ is a family of easy molding, high flow rubber, with excellent chemical resistance to alcohols, acids, and bases. ChronoPrene™ is offered as a translucent resin in a durometer hardness of 5 - 40 Shore A. The outstanding characteristic of this family of compounds is their ability to be injection molded at temperatures between 175ºC and 235ºC. The result is an injected molded part with very good surface smoothness and excellent elasticity. ChronoPrene™ elastomeric resins are thermoplastic rubbers, which can be extruded or molded by standard thermoplastic processing equipment. Most traditional rubbers are thermosetting in nature, often making them difficult to compound, mold, and are not always biocompatible. Information provided by CardioTech International, Inc.
