COIM FILCO® 300 Non Ionic Epoxy-Polyester Aqueous Emulsion for Glass Fiber Sizing
Subcategory: Additive/Filler for Polymer; Thermoplastic
Material Notes: Description: Non Ionic Epoxy-Polyester Aqueous Emulsion for Glass Fiber Sizing General Information: COIM has developed a range of polyesters for the treatment of glass fiber. These polyesters come in powder and emulsion form and are collectively known as FILCO®. The products in the FILCO® line serve to size glass fiber, to optimize the mechanical characteristics of the fiber, or to bind the fibers for the production of mat. Applications: Filco 300 is recommended for sizing of glass fiber to be used for reinforcement of unsaturated polyester and epoxy matrix. Its molecular structure is typical for a highly crystalline polymer in which the oxyranic functions are ranged on both terminal parts and lateral ramifications. The most important applicable properties of Filco 300 are as follows: - good degree of affinity with epoxy matrixes employed in the production of glass/resin compounds
- high chemical and hydrolytic resistance of compounds themselves
- good degree of compatibility with various sizing compounds, including the aminic organosilanes in a wide pH range
- suitable for partial self-cross-linking during sizing fiber drying maintaining sufficient residual functionality to bind matrix chemically. This cross-linkage occurs above 130°C.
