Material Notes: Description: The Flexchem "51" series is a group of translucent, flexible, non-toxic vinyl compounds which were specifically developed to replace silicone in various applications. These compounds utilize a non-phthalate plasticizer system for use in medical device applications. This unique product line offers excellent release characteristics, rubber-like compression properties, good burst strength and durability. These compounds can even be solvent bonded for ease of assembly. Flexchem compounds can be extruded or injection molded; they do not require any special equipment for processing. A replacement for silicone in a nearly endless list of uses, including tubing for pumping applications, urinary drain sets, beverage spouts, gaskets, etc., Flexchem is available in durometers ranging from 35 to 65 shore A hardness. It is formulated utilizing only FDA sanctioned raw materials and has been designed for use in USP Class VI applications.
