CPC - Vycom VINTEC® II TYPE II PVC Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)
Subcategory: Vinyl; Thermoplastic
Material Notes: Vintec II is a high impact, corrosion resistant polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sheet. Because of its excellent impact and ductility it is ideally suited for applications that require thermal forming or where the finished product is subject to shock or physical abuse. Vintec II conforms to ASTM-D-1784-95 Class 16444-D (Formerly Type II Grade 1) and is manufactured without fillers or plasticizers. Its high heat deflection temperature and high modulus make it ideally suited for operation at temperatures up to 140º F with fewer supports than other Type II materials. Material conforming to former Type II classification were only required to have an izod impact of 18 per ASTM-D-256. This allows the sheet to be cold rolled into large diameter cylinders for exhaust systems. Exceptional fire ratings UL-94V-0 and flame spread under 20 per ASTM-E-84 also enhance its position in this application. Vintec II is available in numerous colors, finishes and sizes.FEATURES AND BENEFITS - Strength- Vintec II is a high impact strength product; over 15 times the value of standard PVC.
- Chemical Resistance- Vintec II has good chemical resistance to acids, alkalis and fumes.
- Ductility- Vintec II can be cold rolled for duct and ventilation applications.
- Formability- Vintec II has excellent thermoforming and vacuum forming characteristics.
- Workability- Vintec II can be cold rolled, formed, cut, shaped and welded.
- Consistency- Vintec II is extruded through its available range of gauges for dimensional consistency.
- Flammability- Vintec Ii is self extinguishing and it has a flame spread of 20 according to ASTM E84.
