Material Notes: Data provided by DuPont Packaging Polymers. Melinex® ECOTM 813G is a clear, pretreated base film with high gloss, low haze and excellent processability. It is produced using a minimum of 25 percent post-consumer recycled feedstock. Melinex® ECOTM 813G polyester film has been designed to provide a clear film with excellent ink adhesion and printability for the packaging industry. One side is a chemically pretreated surface that provides ink adhesion to a wide range of both solvent and water based inks. Melinex® ECOTM 813G film provides good clarity for reverse printing and allows the inks to shine through with high quality. Melinex® ECOTM 813G film's pretreated surface also provides improved adhesion for various coatings and adhesives. This often eliminates the need for any type of priming operation. The chemical pretreatment on Melinex® ECOTM 813G film does not result in a performance or shelf-life decline over time and generally is superior to corona treated film. Melinex® ECOTM 813G film features good clarity and handling characteristics in metallizing operations. When aluminum metallized, the film exhibits excellent aesthetic quality as well as the best barrier to oxygen and moisture in a flexible packaging film. Polyester base film, containing a minimum of 25% post consumer recycled polyester content, that is compliant with FDA regulations under 21 CFR 177.1630, Sections (f) and (g), which is treated on one side with a coating which is also in compliance with 21 CFR 177.1630. Melinex® ECOTM813G may be used for packaging, transporting, or holding food, excluding alcoholic beverages, at temperatures not to exceed 250°F, and for packaging, transporting, or holding alcoholic beverages that do not exceed 50 percent alcohol by volume.
