DuPont™ Surlyn® PC2000
Subcategory: Ethylene Methyl Acrylate; Thermoplastic
Material Notes: DuPont™ Surlyn® PC2000 thermoplastic resin is an advanced ethylene/methacrylic acid (E/MAA) copolymer, in which the MAA acid groups have been partially neutralized with sodium ions. The high MAA content and mid-range neutralization level for this grade creates an exceptional combination of strengths: toughness, low-temperature toughness, abrasion resistance, tear resistance, excellent clarity, and high stiffness compared with other grades of Surlyn®. The resin is highly suitable for injection molding, providing enhanced processability over other grades. Surlyn ® PC2000 is ideal for applications where easy melt flow characteristics and high stiffness, high clarity and good abrasion resistance are desired. In golf ball covers, it provides good cut resistance, impact durability, high resiliency and increased coefficient of restitution, particularly when used in blends with different cations.Information provided by DuPont™
