Material Notes:
FormulationVTR-8550 | 100 | Zinc Oxide | 3 | N990 Carbon Black | 30 | Diak™ 7 (TAIC) | 3 | Luperox® 101-XL 45 | 3 | Description: VTR-8550 is a new, developmental 67% fluorine peroxide cured polymer similar to Viton® GFLT with significantly improved processing and curing characteristics. VTR-8550 utilizes a revolutionary new Advanced Polymer Architecture technology designed to deliver a polymer which:- Cures exceptionally fast to a high state of cure
- Shows improved mold release/mold fouling properties compared to GFLT or GFLT-300
- Shows improved mold flow, less shear sensitivity, and lower extruder die swell in a ~60 Mooney FKM
- Shows excellent physical properties with high elongation in either the original or aging tests
- Shows similar to improved heat, fluids, and low temperature resistance compared to GFLT
- Shows excellent compression set resistance with little (2 hr at 232°C) or no postcure
It is recommended to use at least a 70% load factor in an internal mixer. The recommended process aid for VTR-8550 is 0.5 phr of Armeen® 18D. A two part process aid system of Armeen® 18D with Strucktol WS 280 at 0.8 phr each is optimal if that level of process aid can be tolerated in mold shrinkage. The use of Diak™ #8 is NOT recommended as it causes poor mold release and high compression set. Information provided by manufacturer.
