FormulationVTR 8655 | 50 | VTR 8650 | 50 | Zinc Oxide | 3 | N990 Carbon Black | 30 | Diak™ 7 (TAIC) | 3 | Varox® DBPH-50 | 2 | Description: VTR-8655 is a new, 68% fluorine, peroxide-cured, Viton® polymer similar to VTR-8650 but with a significantly lower gum polymer viscosity of ~25 (ML at 121°C). VTR-8655 utilizes revolutionary new Advanced Polymer Architecture technology which includes a new peroxide cure site along with an optimized molecular weight distribution designed to deliver a polymer which:- Is ideal for blending with VTR-8650 to reach intermediate viscosity ranges
- Cures exceptionally fast to a high state of cure
- Shows improved mold release/mold fouling properties compared to Viton® GBL-200
- Shows improved mold flow and less shear sensitivity than 65 Mooney VTR-8650
- Shows excellent physical properties with high elongation, both original and aged
- Shows similar heat, fluids, and low temperature resistance compared to Viton® GBL-200
- Shows improved water resistance/volume swell in water compared to Viton® GBL-200
- Shows excellent compression set resistance with either low or no postcure
VTR-8650 is a new, developmental 68% fluorine peroxide cured polymer similar to Viton® GBL-900 but with significantly improved processing and curing characteristics. VTR-8650 utilizes a revolutionary new Advanced Polymer Architecture technology which includes a new peroxide cure site along with an optimized molecular weight distribution designed to deliver a polymer which: - Cures exceptionally fast to a high state of cure
- Shows improved mold release/mold fouling properties compared to Viton® GBL-900 and 200
- Shows improved mold flow, less shear sensitivity, and lower extruder die swell for a ~65 Mooney FKM
- Shows excellent physical properties with high elongation, both original and aged
- Shows similar heat, fluids, and low temperature resistance compared to Viton® GBL-900 and 200
- Shows improved water resistance/volume swell in water compared to Viton® GBL-900 and 200
- Shows excellent compression set resistance with either low or no postcure
It is recommended if mixing in an internal mixer to use at least a 70% load factor. The recommended process aid for VTR-8650 is 0.5 phr of Armeen® 18D. Information provided by manufacturer.
