DuPont Elastomers Viton® FreeFlow™ Z-100 Process Aid
Subcategory: Fluoropolymer; Additive/Filler for Polymer; Thermoplastic
Close Analogs: This former DuPont Dow Elastomers product line is now produced by DuPont Performance Elastomers.
Material Notes: Description: Viton® FreeFlow™ Z100 is a processing aid for polyolefins that eliminates melt fracture, lowers extrusion pressure, reduces amperage and torque, and reduces die buildup. Viton® FreeFlow™ Z100 combines an improved rheology fluoroelastomer with a surface active agent to provide a more highly efficient process aid blend than previously available. As a result, this process aid performs under a wide variety of extruder conditions and with formulations where other process aids provide only marginal performance. Due to the highly efficient blend of improved rheology fluoroelastomers with the surface active agent, Viton® FreeFlow™ Z100 is a good choice for use with filled formulas (talc, silica or pigments) or as a process aid in combined masterbatches. Due to the low lubricant level, no effects on surface properties of the finished products are expected. Advantages: - Improved rates of conditioning when starting up new formulations on clean dies or purged systems
- Improved performance on difficult lines where other process aids require high levels
- Improved additive efficiency particularly on lines where frequent formula changes are made or in formulas containing multiple additives
- Improved economics
- Extended running time between die cleanings
- Excellent thermal stability
- Approved for food contact and potable water appliances
