Dow AFFINITY® PL 1840 Polyolefin Plastomer
Subcategory: Elastomer, TPE; Thermoplastic; Polymer
Material Notes: AFFINITY® PL 1840 polyolefin plastomer is an ethylene alpha-olefin resin designed to provide blown film products with low temperature sealability, excellent puncture resistance, outstanding blown film optics, and good organoleptic properties. AFFINITY PL 1840 polymer has good clarity and toughness. It finds applications as sealant layer in multilayer film structures, and in liquid and dry food pouch packaging structures. It also offers excellent performance for profile extrusion of tubing. AFFINITY PL 1840 polymer has excellent compatibility with other polyolefins, allowing efficient blending and coextrusion. It complies with FDA regulation 21 CFR 177.1520c3.1b, which allows for its use in direct food contact applications. Data provided by Dow Chemical.
